Over the past year, ISTE has been collaborating with the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) to develop materials to introduce teachers and school leaders to CT. We believe that CT can and should be integrated across disciplines and grades.
Computational Thinking (CT) can sound intimidating and complex. In short and simple terms, CT combines longstanding critical thinking skills with the power of computing to innovate solutions or work with data sets to make decisions. To help educators who want to explore CT, we've published two free resources:
You can download these resources for free and look for additional resources as they get published.
For those of you starting a new school year, we invite you to explore CT and use this forum to ask questions, share feedback, learn from and engage with other educators about how they understand, value, and implement CT.
I look forward to discussing CT with you!
Sincerely,
Carolyn Sykora

If you are preparing conference proposals for the 2011-12 season or share CT at a staff meeting, consider leading a session on CT. The primer and instructions will be available in October. If you want to learn more and share CT resources with colleagues, let me know and I can notify you when this is available.
