I am new to Ning. I got to this Ning because of an invitation from ISTE. I see here that I can invite friends to join the Ning. My question is, do the people I invite need to hold a membership in ISTE or just have a Ning account at http://www.ning.com/
I will be teaching a graduate technology course for teachers and I am looking for a place to invite them to to experience what a Ning is all about and expose them to discuss current technology trends. Is this a place to do that or does someone know of another technology Ning that would easily help teachers experience this technology?
I see on the Ning site that I could create my own which also interests me. Are there things I need to be aware of if I do?
Hi Susan - and welcome to the ISTE Ning! It's not necessary for people to be ISTE members to join the Ning. Anyone can join and benefit from the information and discussions posted here. Invite your friends and students. This is a great place to share technology information!
Hi Susan,
I have set up a Ning for the fourth grade teachers in my school system to exchange ideas and resources. It was easy to set up and invite people to join, and I'm not an experienced techie. You can make it public or private. I started it for when we returned to school after our winter break. Membership has reached 24 and will hopefully continue to grow. Right now I'm am setting up a Ning for each grade level in our system. Give it a try.
Paula
Hi Paula,
Wow!!! I'm impressed. Thank you so much for sharing the 4th grade teachers' ning. The resources on it are are very valuable. I'm sure it will be helpful to have one for each grade level. If you don't mind, I will have my graduate students who are teachers take a look at it. Susan
