Seeking UK Partner to answer questions from US students

Our 7th grade US History students had some questions in class today regarding the American Revolution and we would love to have some help answering them!

1. How do UK students view the American Revolution?
2. How much time do you dedicate to the Revolution in your curriculum?
3. What perspective or general views are conveyed about the American Revolution?

There are more questions, but this should give you an idea of what we would be looking for.

Thanks for your consideration!
Rob J.

Hi Rob. I'm the Affiliate Program Director for ISTE. We have an Affiliate in the UK, Naace. (www.naace.org). I will send them your comment and hopefully they can connect you with a local school! Let me know how it works out.

Hi Rob,

Bernadette here from Naace. I will put this out on our talklists to see if we can find you a partner. It can go in our next all member newsletter too, which goes on out 20th Novemebr if we have not been successful in finding someone prior to that.

Good luck!

Kind regards,

Bernadette

Hadn't heard back from any connecting classrooms as of yet. So our class has decided to post a VoiceThread later this week with our questions and see what kind of responses we can get from that. I'll post the URL when we are done. Thanks everyone for your initial help and work. It's great to be part of such a responsive community!!

Trying to connect with classrooms this busy holiday season can some times be difficult. But if anyone would be willing, my year 13 class has some questions they'd like to get some feedback on in the from of a VoiceThread. Any feedback would be welcomed!

Thanks so much for your consideration and thanks in advance for posting!

Hi Rob,
I don't have a direct solution for you but I'm intrigued. I'm a Brit living in the US, and working in education. Even though I'm in IT now, I have a pretty heavy social science background before I moved across the pond. I've had some interesting discussions with social studies teachers and students in my district about this topic. If I can help, I'd be glad to.

Peter,
If you wouldn't mind checking out the VoiceThread and leaving a comment to their questions, that would be awesome! Our kids would enjoy getting multiple perspectives: teachers, students, or professionals.

Thanks for replying and being willing to help answer some questions!!!

For sure! I would argue that we have a responsibility to help build a student's identity.
