Heard about Glogster last night while listening to one of CRSTE's conference sessions. Sounds interesting and together with another colleague here at UTT we intend to try it out next semester with our students teachers in our Ed Tech classes. In the meantime I am learning learning learning.

Started using Glogster Edu version last September with high students. Teachers have set up student accounts with control over privacy. Teachers are able to monitor student's progress on assignments. Examples of student projects have been pro/con reports for Current Events-one "pro" glogster & one "con" glogster for presentations, AP Psychology brain research topics which included video interviews, German language projects which included podcasts in German, and American History "Immigration to America" with maps, images, and research. All of these projects were presentation slide shows last year.

Just received word from Glogster that interested teachers have until Feb. 28th to register for free Basic accounts for up to 200 students. After this date, teachers will be limited to 100 student accounts. Happy Glogging!

You should use The edu Glogs to have control over your student glogs.

Wow, I learned something new today! Until browsing on the ISTE site I had no clue what glogging was. After browsing the different glogs for the past hour I think I can incorporate some really great projects with my own students. For those that have used glogging your class before, what are the downfalls to using this? Are you able to censor you students?

I'm learning how to glog but i find that the stuff i want to do is a pain to figure out plus there's not as much stuff online to help or the help feature with glog seems limited....like why does it seem you can only circle in the colour pink!? anyway to change that? also..how do you make a glog that's 640X480?
or the size of a blogger column 400wide? i get impatient when i don't "get" something fast...compared to SL glogster seems harder! LOL

I have been Glogging for some time now. I basically use it as a web page especially with video:

Thanks for setting up this group. I don't think many people know about glogging since it is a relatively new concept. I plan on featuring this and other sites at NECC within the playground.

I truly believe that Glogging is a fun and amazing way to share student work. Glogging can be viewed as an online bulletin board or online interactive journal for classrooms, schools and student work!

As we begin to push these really cool tools, we should think about safety issues with these types of sites? What sorts of policies should state education departments put in place to protect schools, administrators, teachers and students? This Glog http://rosesunrise65.glogster.com/YES-THATS-TRUE/ was really cute. However, if you are a parent and your child is featured within an internet-based Glog, that anyone can access, would you be upset? Would you feel that your child is protected?

In this case, the teacher did a really cute job featuring the work of her students. But I fear that her good work could be potentially dangerous for her and other innovative teachers without protective policies in place.

Glogging is so addictcing! Glogster has an educator's website. You can also sign-up your students. http://www.glogster.com/edu. Teachers use this virtual poster for book responses, summarizing a unit, and introducing vocabulary. I would love to see what others are doing! I hope someone will post their glog here. This is the link to my first one. My class used one to respond to the book, "The Relatives Came". http://bridgesr.glogster.com/The-Relatives-Came/
