Comment by Lesley Farmer on February 14, 2012 at 9:49am I convene a monthly real-time chat session on technology and libraries, noting international aspects. These sessions are held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5pm. The site, Tapped In (http://www.tappedin.org), is a free service to educators (including librarians); there's even a spot for teens. You can have your own office (or one for a group), and archive documents and conversations there.

International Schools follow many different countries' curriculum's, some British, some Canadian, some American, many are moving to international curriculum's such as International Baccalaureate (IB) or International Primary Curriculum (IPC). These schools are English speaking and require certification and native English speakers. The best ones want at least four years of experience and a Masters Degree. A good website for locating jobs is http://www.tieonline.com. Most schools using an International Baccalaureate (IB) or American Curriculum are advertised here. Most hiring is done at recruiting fairs. A university in Iowa (UNI) http://www.uni.edu/placement/overseas/osfair.html has a very large one that isn't too expensive. CIS has one in Western Canada also Search has multiple ones throughout the world.
Comment by Chad Fairey on December 15, 2010 at 8:33pm Danielle,
I am currently Associate Head of School at Washington International School (in Washington, DC), but recently ended a five-year tour at the American School of Paris. While overseas, I became quite involved with the international school community --- part of the outgrowth of which was the creation of this SIG.
In terms of recruiting agencies, Alyssa has mentioned one of the bigger ones: International School Search (ISS). Another large recruiting agency is Search Associates (http://search-associates.com/); they host annual job fairs in the US, Europe and Asia. The Council of International Schools (http://cois.org) also maintains an active database of international school jobs, and host fairs as well.
Hope this helps!
