great idea! thanks for what you do. it's so important for active and progressive teachers, eager to improve the process of education. in times of globalization it's necessary to communicate, to share ideas with professionals from all over the world. have used to find great teaching blogs by rapidshare search engine. especially interested in east european countries (like Poland or Ukraine). if anyone has some experience, please share.

It would be more effective if we share the innovative teaching techniques/technology including web link, video clip and discussion etc.. then the purpose of this young educator would have great valuable..

Ryan,
Thanks for the feedback. I was planning on allowing additional time for viewing the art and experiencing the museum.

Another idea, Dorothy, would be to give the list of items away earlier and allow the teams more time to go through there. Take all of the teams with correct answers and have a drawing to see who the winner is. I felt like we needed to rush in the Portrait Gallery and I misses out on some good art and even more mingling/interacting.

I decided to replicate the Portrait Gallery experience for my teachers at the Minneapolis Museum of Art during workshop week in August. What better way for them to understand the fun and value of cell phones but to put them to educational use.

Do students need to memorize facts in the digital age? Absolutely! But, I believe the question is a bit misleading. To even ask the question is to misinterpret the focus of education. Suppose we step into the middle of the 21st century and humans...
