My Professional Life: I am an Instructional Facilitator for Howard County Public Schools and will be planning the Digital Education Program next year. I also work contractually for the Frederick County Virtual School. Before working with HCPSS, I ran the Maryland Virtual School (MVS) program for the Maryland State Department of Education for 5 years. I have also worked as a high school science teacher for 7 years and a district-level technology specialist for 2 years.  Related experiences include assisting school systems with strategic planning and implementation of local online learning programs, teaching online courses, designing online content, mentoring online instructors, and facilitating online communities. 

My Personal Life: My wife (Jennifer) and I have three children (Ben, Maggie, and Jackie) who keep us super busy. I enjoy lots of different things- music, sports, outdoor activities, travel (not as often as I'd like...), and everything summer. I am a fan of technology devices, but have tried to keep the number I purchase in check. My favorite TV shows are Modern Family, Glee (yes- I'll admit it publicly), and Top Chef, despite the fact that I can't cook. My favorite author is Pat Conroy, but you will most likely find me reading Sports Illustrated.
