Yes that is the program I am the most interested in. So once I finish the course work (before dissertation) I could go ahead and apply for my EdS? Just out of curiosity- Would this allow me to become a principal if I wanted to or would that be more of a leadership program and also, would it give me the classes to become high school business ed teacher or a college professor? How long did it take you and how many classes did you take at a time?
Thank you so much for your help
Hi,
The DCTE is what I got...it in the Grad school of computer and information science SCIS--I thought the coursework prepared me more for my role in higher ed and with elearning etc. the other program I think is in the Ficsher school? focus was more on educational coursework
I got an Ed S. degree automatically when I finished the coursework I am not sure what you might need for leadership I wasn't interested in going that route since I had done that in K-12 for 30 years and wanted a different career post retirement. this degree worked out well for me and we had the option to meet for a week then online for the rest of the term. So I only had to travel to FLA in Jan and July each year during the coursework. Hope that helps!

Hello I'm wondering if you know what the difference is between Nova's Ph.D. In Computing Technology In Education (DCTE) and their PhD in Education with a specialization in Instructional Technology and Distance Education.
I'm more interested in the first one but want to make sure it will make me the most marketable. I'm thinking I would like to either teach college, become a tech coordinator, a instructional technology facilitator, or an administrator (principal). If I decided to go the administrator route would this qualify me to do so? Wouldn't I need something in leadership?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Steve,
Yes, Nova offers both - Ph.D. and Ed.D. Try http://www.scis.nova.edu/doctoral/dcte.html. I am doing the Ed.D now but can see that the Ph.D. offers some advantages.

Mya I recommend Microsoft Liveatedu as it comes with email, shared spaces, skydrive, messaging.... and in a couple of months will have web versions of MS office....and the best part is that it is free and support is free. It would only take an admin…

Robin,
First of all, I'm saddened that your program has not realized that software is going out of style! With all of the free stuff on the Internet, expensive software suites are no longer needed as they once were. What I would suggest is looking…
