- Throughout 18 years of educational experience, I have enjoyed working with and learning from students and colleagues—from daily classroom engagement with students to facilitating teachers in professional development and new school designs.
As a technology teacher, I assisted students in creating their own personal learning networks (i.e. Google Reader, Diigo social bookmarking) as well as how to communicate effectively using multimedia to produce an effective message (Tools used: iMove, Garageband, iTunes, iPhoto, Keynote, Pages, iWeb, and a host of other tools, i.e. Google Earth, Google Maps, VoiceThread, blogs, wikis, Wordle, Google Docs, Twitter, mindmapping, interactive timelines, etc.)
As the director of 21st century learning, I enjoyed working with teachers in weaving 21st century skills into teaching—-creating relevant curriculum, retooling pedagogy and assessment for more student-centered instruction, and infusing creativity and innovation into learning, while meeting or exceeding learning objectives. One was to assist teachers in creating their own personal learning networks to support their professional practice.
