Hello

Students today enjoy the connectedness of social networking; it is part of their very being. My goal is to bring my instruction into that cloud to teach the content required in ways that inspire online responsibility and ethics in this new, very public world.

Last year, we wrote on our wiki and created a Voice Thread for President Obama with two other classes in the United States setting goals for helping our communities.

I've learned very much about Google from the Google for Educators Site and from Tweets on Twitter.

My students participated in the National Writing Project's Letter to the President project for which Google Docs was a partner. This fantastic experience helped students journey into the cloud of online communication and networking. I will continue to learn as much as I can to help my students learn to navigate responsibly through the Internet community.

I am so excited to hear from you! I would love to do another project again this year. I am working with students who are not as knowledgeable about communication and technology as my last year's students were, so things are moving much more slowly than before. I am setting a new goal to accomplish this year which involves project based learning. I am in the process of writing it up and would love to partner with you in some way if possible. I haven't decided on the real-world problem, for I am trying to keep it content related. Our theme is "perspective." We cover Outer Space in science and government and Civil War in social studies. Have you ever participated in project based learning or had your students to problem solve local issues? I am going to research a little more to see if I can come up with something. I look forward to possibly working with you this year!

For sure! I would argue that we have a responsibility to help build a student's identity.
