Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Representative Rosa Delauro (D-CT) have introduced the The Fix America’s Schools Today (FAST) Act in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. If passed, this legislation would provide $25 billion to modernize, maintain and repair K-12 schools including updating school networks and technology tools.
Please write to your members of Congress TODAY at the Ed Tech Action Network web-site to urge them to pass this important legislation and let them know how important it is for your community to have updated schools and technologically equipped classrooms and labs. In addition to providing our students with modern learning environments, this legislation would create 300,000 jobs across the country.
As Senator Brown stated in a recent Op-Ed, "Students learn better without distractions – such as leaky roofs, frigid classrooms, crumbling walls, outdated technology, and subpar science labs." Please share YOUR views and experiences with Congress NOW.
S. 1597, the Senate version of the FAST Act currently has 13 Co-Sponsors, and H.R. 2948 has 107 Co-sponsors. Click on the above links to read the bill text and see if your Senators and Representative are Co-Sponsors
